Our Guide to Enumclaw and Washington's Mountain Country
Enumclaw is the kind of place Seattle locals keep to themselves. Small-town charm, stunning mountain scenery, and some of the best access to the Cascades in the state. Here are our favorite spots to explore during your stay.
Parks & Nature

Mount Rainier National Park
White River Entrance: 73830 WA-410, Enumclaw, WA 98022
One of the most iconic natural landmarks in the country, Mount Rainier is an active glacier-capped volcano rising to 14,410 feet above the surrounding Cascade landscape. The Enumclaw side of the park offers access to Sunrise, the highest point reachable by vehicle in the park at 6,400 feet, with sweeping alpine meadows, wildflowers in season, and views that stop you in your tracks. Plan for approximately 1 hr 20 min from the lodge to the White River Entrance.
Green River Gorge Conservation Area
SE Green Valley Rd, Black Diamond, WA 98010
A stunning and undervisited natural area just outside Enumclaw featuring dramatic basalt cliffs, old-growth forest, and the Green River winding through a deep river gorge. Popular for hiking, swimming holes in summer, and photography year-round. Several trail access points in the area, Franklin and Flaming Geyser State Park are nearby highlights.

Nolte State Park and Deep Lake
36921 Veazie-Cumberland Rd SE, Enumclaw, WA 98022
A peaceful state park built around a naturally dark, spring-fed lake surrounded by old-growth forest. Swimming, fishing, and easy walking trails make it a great half-day stop, especially for families. Just a short drive from the lodge.
Crystal Mountain
33914 Crystal Mountain Blvd, Enumclaw, WA 98022
Washington's largest ski resort sits less than an hour from the lodge, making Grand Arena Lodge an ideal basecamp for winter ski trips. In summer, Crystal Mountain offers gondola rides with panoramic views of Mount Rainier, hiking, and mountain biking.
